We Asked True Believers Outside Trump Tower: What If He Loses?

Their answers were…interesting.

Outside Trump Tower on election day

On Election Day, a small crowd of Trump’s true believers gathered outside the GOP nominee’s Manhattan residence and office tower on Fifth Avenue for one last noisy show of defiance and joy to cheer on their candidate. “He does love women! He loves me!” said Cindy Hall, holding signs and grinning ear-to-ear.

New Yorkers—mostly anti-Trump—pushed their way through the crowded sidewalk as tourists gawked and took selfies. The colorfully dressed and raucous Trump supporters were penned into a small barricaded area guarded by police. I wanted to know: What happens if he loses? Will the movement he created continue? Watch the responses above.

Fact:

Mother Jones was founded as a nonprofit in 1976 because we knew corporations and billionaires wouldn't fund the type of hard-hitting journalism we set out to do.

Today, reader support makes up about two-thirds of our budget, allows us to dig deep on stories that matter, and lets us keep our reporting free for everyone. If you value what you get from Mother Jones, please join us with a tax-deductible donation today so we can keep on doing the type of journalism 2022 demands.
