What Color Is the Sky in GOP-land?

How excruciating it is to be a GOP conservative with any minute strand of integrity or intellectual ability? If you want to see Mike Pence (R-Ind) eviscerated by Chris Matthews for refusing to answer a simple question, watch this.

It’s painfully obvious that Pence believes in evolution but has been so Limbaugh-ized, he prefers to babble incoherently rather than say “Yes, I believe in evolution.” And global warming, and the need for conservation. By the time it was over, poor Pence was blithering on about belonging to the party of Teddy Roosevelt, who started the national park system and hugged pandas daily. Near as I can tell.

Here’s a snippet from HuffPo:

Asked about teaching evolution, Pence suggested schools should cover “all these controversial areas” and let the children decide. Matthews concluded, “I think you believe in evolution, but you’re afraid to say so because your conservative constituency might find that offensive.”

Ya think?

Just for fun, here’s also David Letterman going all Daily Show on baby-mama Bristol Palin suddenly realizing she misspoke was high was quoted out of context when she said abstinence wasn’t realistic. Don’t they realize that TV shows are forever?

As a wise man once said, “What a terrible thing to have lost one’s mind. Or not to have a mind at all. How true that is.”

Even more terrible for an entire political party. Even worse? For the GOP to have lost whatever scrap of soul it had left.
