The NRA Just Posted the Most Classless Series of Tweets About Kim Kardashian’s Gunpoint Robbery

Thieves in Paris stole millions of dollars worth of jewelry.

Early Monday morning, Kim Kardashian West was robbed at gunpoint inside a luxury apartment in Paris, where the reality star had been staying while attending the city’s annual fashion week. The violent attack reportedly involved multiple men who tied up Kardashian West and pointed a gun to her head while they stole millions of dollars in jewelry, two cell phones, and her purse. The reaction on social media, while mixed, has largely been supportive of Kardashian West.

The National Rifle Association decided the robbery provided a perfect moment to release a series of tweets that appeared to mock calls for gun control, particularly in Paris where safety remains a top concern after the city sustained multiple terrorist attacks in recent years.

Kardashian West and her family have been outspoken in their support for stricter gun control laws, a position that, unsurprisingly, has lead to angry responses from the NRA.

This is the rubber-meets-road moment: the early days in our first fundraising drive since we took a big swing and merged with CIR to bring fearless investigative reporting to the internet, radio, video, and everywhere else that people need an antidote to lies and propaganda.

Donations have started slow, and we hope that explaining, level-headedly, why your support really is everything for our reporting will make a difference. Learn more in “Less Dreading, More Doing,” or in this 2:28 video about our merger (that literally just won an award), and please pitch in if you can right now.
