Rereleased with photos from the original book and new work from his personal collection, New York 1954.55 (Manchester, England: Dewi Lewis, 1995) showcases how Klein redefined the art of photography.

In A Queer Geography (New York: Crown Publishing, 1996), author Frank Browning maps the regional influences on the rites and rituals of gay men. Browning’s quest takes him from Kentucky to Italy, all the while raising social and psychological questions about gay life.

An unabashed progressive response to William Bennett’s conservative The Book of Virtues (1993), A Call to Character: A Family Treasury (New York: HarperCollins, 1995) by Colin Greer and Herbert Kohl is a collection of stories, poems, and fables designed to help children deal with moral decisions.
